Travelling in the City of London

London is a busy and exciting city with thousands of visitors, commuters and residents travelling around the capital every day both for business and pleasure. To cope with this high amount of traffic London has an extensive transport network including the iconic red double decker bus, the classic black cabs, trains, airports, the Docklands Light Railway, and the underground (which alone sees over an astonishing one billion passenger journeys each year!). It is this transport network that serves as the central hub for the whole of the United Kingdom.

We know it's extremely important for our guests to have convenient and easy access to public transport when they visit London with us. Our prime location in Zone 1 makes us easily accessible in the centre of the city. We are just a few minutes away from the Tower Hill underground station and Aldgate East. You can reach all parts of London and the West End via Tower Hill, though some destinations will require changing trains. The route 15 bus is a cheap and quick way to travel through the city and will give our guests the chance to catch a few sightseeing opportunities on the way to us at Tower Hill. We are also conveniently close by to Fenchurch Street Station and a ten-minute walk to London Liverpool Street Station. If you would prefer to take a more scenic route, you could opt for the River Bus, which departs from the nearby Tower Pier. Nobody wants the stress of arriving on holiday and facing the dreaded journey to your accommodation, which is why we're very proud of our location as we believe it removes the stress of travelling and guests can arrive to a smooth and easy check-in, ready to enjoy the rest of their holiday (or business trip!).

If you're looking to explore the city while you are here and plan to frequently use public transport, then we suggest a purchase of a Visitor Oyster card. Buy this card before you leave home and have it delivered to your home address. This "smart card" is a quick and simple way to pay for journeys on the underground, overground, buses, trams, the Docklands Light Railway, TfL Rail, the River Bus and most of the National Rail services in London. This can save you valuable time and prevent you standing in queues in the stations. The Visitor Oyster Card offers daily capping - meaning you can travel as much as you wish in a single day and only pay a certain amount (currently no more than £6.60 per day). Having this smart card can also reward you with special offers and discounts at shops, restaurants and more. Visit the Transport for London website for more information.
